Big lag spikes with texture packs installed

When I have a texture pack applied (using the texture loader mod), I get big lag spikes when entering a level and whenever a new player joins. My guess is that it's not preloading the assets correctly

can you send the texture pack you are having problems with? unable to reproduce the issue with different texture packs i tried
