I have an idea for a feature which would be useful for myself and hopefully others: The ability to record macros in the EEPROM and play them back with buttons connected to pin headers on the board. (Could multiplex across a matrix of 2x4 buttons in order to save pins)

My specific usage is for my HP 6032A power supply where there is no output enable switch. The functionality is there via GPIB but not via the front panel. I'd like to be able to use this interface to access the interface via my PC, but also to be able to control the output from a button near power supply. For this purpose, an additional 5V input (With diodes so it can be connected while the USB is also in use) would also be helpful, so the PC isn't needed to be on.

I'm sure this will be useful for other devices as well, for recalling settings etc.
