From a discussion with @sbooeshaghi , the developer of seqspec, we were wondering if EFO would consider adding coverage for specific library preparation kits and sequencing (reagent) kits, similar to how sequencer devices are included in EFO.
Library preparation kits and sequencing kits are useful for seqspec since they impact the structure of the reads in the resulting data, and having ontological terms could provide a controlled way to refer to these kits and also ensure a relation between the kits and the sequencer(s) they are associated with.
Examples of these could be found in Illumina's product catalog, although we envision it covering kits from other companies as well:
