MediaElement change background on iOS

Hi,

How do I change the background of the MediaElement from black to white on iOS?
I've tried the following handler, but it doesn't work

CommunityToolkit.Maui.Core.Handlers.MediaElementHandler.PropertyMapper.AppendToMapping("WhiteBackground", (handler, view) =>
{
   handler.PlatformView.BackgroundColor = UIKit.UIColor.White;
});

I've also tried setting the built in

BackgroundColor="White"
or 
Background="White"

but that doesn't help either.
