Can't turn off Snes Classic when playing Genesis Roms

I currently have 40 NES 22Genesis and 60 SNES games all split into 4 different folders. Then SNES and NES games work fine. When I play the genesis roms they play fine but I can no longer reset or turn my system off. I have to pull the power plug to get it to shut off.

When adding Genesis games I did change the file from bin/binROM to bin/mdROM. I also noticed my aftermarket controller cables quit working with my system after I added the Genesis.

Found a Snes Game that had the same issue. It was Secret of Evermore and it might just be the rom itself because I got 2 copies and one works and one doesn't
Not working Rom: /bin/snes /usr/share/games/CLV-U-HWQVS/Secret_of_Evermore.sfrom
Working Rom:/bin/clover-canoe-shvc-wr -rom /usr/share/games/CLV-U-TGBXX/Secret_of_Evermore.sfrom --volume 100 -rollback-snapshot-period 600
Unsure if this is related to this issue just testing.
