Account split between verified and not verified #1040
Comments
I think this is https://metacpan.org/about/faq ( Do you have multiple accounts? ) - please try that and comment on this ticket (for us to reopen) if that does not solve this issue. |
That is how my account was split- Google profile with one and something else with the other. So I disconnected Google from the one and connected it to the other one. Then I stupidly closed out of the Google-linked one so now I can't look at it. But my favorites haven't been merged, and Test::LectroTest still has both of the +1's that I gave it, I guess meaning that both accounts still exist even though one of them now has no possible way to log into it. Is there any way to merge both accounts? |
There is no way to merge an account presently. I've add a wish list ( https://github.com/CPAN-API/cpan-api/wiki/Wishlist/3ce5d151eeed7e53f9c906c592577a2395ded959 ) to be able to delete an account (and it's favs) |
Thanks. I added an item for merging accounts (since I'd want to merge and then delete the old one). |
Similar to #852, I noticed that most of my favorites were not showing on my author page (there should be a lot). I went to edit my profile today and Metacpan asked me to verify my PAUSE account, which is strange because I've already done that. Anyway, once I verified it I revisited a module I had just favorited, and the vote button was yellow again instead of blue. So I voted again, and now it shows up in my profile, and I've voted for the distribution twice. But whose account was the first vote associated with? The distribution I voted for twice was Test::LectroTest.
Also if someone happens to have database access, it would be great if they could merge my account favorites with those of the account that +1'd Test::LectroTest right before my account did. There might be a pattern that can be used to merge others' favorites, too, if this problem happens to be common.
