How to install and use Steam Name Changer

  1. Get Steam.Name.Changer.zip from here and extract it to a folder that does not get deleted.
  2. Open names.cfg with a text editor and edit it to fit your needs.
  3. Start Steam.
  4. Start the Steam Name Changer.exe

Known Issues

If you start the tool it will always show you as 'in game' of the game the content of the steam_appid.txt file refers to. (Default: Counter-Strike 1.6 [10]) It will show the right game after starting to play one.
