[Question] Serialize internal properties?

Hello,

I have a plain class

internal class NavigationStore
	{
		public string Page { get; set; }

		public string Route { get; set; }

		public object[] Parameters { get; set; }
	}

which is serialized in SessionStorage.
If I change modifier type from public to internal for properties, the properties are not serialized anymore.
Not sure if this behavior could be changed or even should be changed; is just a question.
