I realized that when a user enters an invalid gene identifier in the search field on the search web site, a very unspecific HTTP error occurs. I think it would be nice to replace that we a warning message, maybe directly on the search page that informs the user that he had used an invalid gene identifier. I also think that this same error message occurs, when a user enters a query gene that is not in the network. Is that right?
I can see that on the developer's HuRI portal version, a description for allowed gene IDs has been added, however, on the developer's site, if a user queries with an invalid gene ID, it will simply show an empty results page without telling the user what might have gone wrong.
