Change volume in stages

I would like to build a remote control for Teufel speakers. I need an appropriate script to gradually increase or decrease the volume. The documentation only mentions setting a specific volume level. The volume can be adjusted as desired using the corresponding buttons on the media player card. Does anyone have an idea how I can implement this behavior in a script?
