Abstract

Gaspot at present is a raffle where users send 1 GAS to a wallet to enter, with the chance to win unlimited gas prizes which are based on the number of entries. There are 3 winners each week with 1st place winning more than 2nd and 3rd place. winners are at present are chosen using a random number generator based in the order of the transaction, first tx of the week is ticket number one and so on.

we are looking to make this automated and to update our website to allow wallet login and ticket purchasing. wed also like to add a monthly super gaspot, where part of each weeks entry fees are saved and added to the prizes of the first weeks draw each month to make the winning prizes higher than they would usually be.

Proposal Information

Description

funding would be used to pay for the work where we would require the help of a dev

Motivation

we think gaspot is fun way to win GAS and if users take to it would significantly boost transactions on Neox

Goals

to add an element of fun and a chance for participants to win GAS, to bring people into Neo and Neo X and to boost usage of the chain

Deliverables & Roadmap

Specify deliverables in detail, including the following info for each:

  • Total Estimated Duration: 10 days ( weve spoken to a dev who thinks this timescale could be achievable to build the dapp )
  • Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 1
  • Total Budget: X GAS ( a figure given by one dev was no less 10,000 usd ) so wed be looking towards that but any dev who may see this wed love to hear from you if youd like to take this project on

Also, provide a roadmap overview for the deliverables.

Deliverables Verifiability

being a website anyone can see the final product and updates can be fed back from the dev

Budget Plan

  • What are the overall required resources (min 10,000 usd ) we would also welcome devs who can do this to please get intouch and also their required costings to make this happen
  • Provide reasons why the requested budget is a good fit for the proposal - only going of one devs expected cost we think its a fair fee due to the nature of the site and knowledge and time required to bring this to life
  • How the budget would be used to achieve the project goal? - to update our current website or even start one from scratch to enable users to participate in the raffle and to automate the process giving users trust in gaspot

Short-Bio

Ive been a fan of neo since around 2017 and one of my first experiences of using neo, other than holding the token was participating in a now non existent raffle and lottery game on neo legacy. Id like to bring some fun NeoX and allow users a chance to win Gas by participating in the game

Portfolio of Projects / Past Experience

ive released a couple of NFT projects in the past, they both had a token tied to them, the latest being neoapes and ape coin where anyone who purchased a neo apes nft would receive ape coin. we would then use part of the funds from the sale to buy back and burn ape from the open market.

Hi @jibbah777

Firstly, we applaud your efforts to do something interesting and engaging in the ecosystem with GasPot. Grassroots initiatives like this are important and we're very open to supporting such initiatives.

In order to gather support on this particular proposal, we feel you'd be in a better position if you could get some firm quotes from developers to help you. In our opinion, $10,000 is way over-quoted and you could build out what you are describing for much less. As you intend to build this out on Neo X, you also have a much larger talent pool to choose from then if you were building on N3.

In general, I don't think we've ever approved a proposal on GrantShares when the proposer has not already locked down their development resources. It makes it hard for us to know where the project will land when we don't know who will be doing the work.

So my advice would be to get several quotes and come back when you've chosen who you want to go with. Sharpen your pencil and bring the developer you intend to engage into this conversation. Knowing their background will help build confidence in the proposal, and may even help if anyone has questions regarding their technical approach.
