As pointed out in the other discussion thread, I am focused on doing and using embedded devices (nowadays called IOT). Here I am thinking of devices in a class of a RapBerry Pico or at max a RaspBerry Pi.
I intend to use EOS once I will upgrade my home energy system by a Heat Pump, PV panels, Accumulators and a smart meter.
Right now I have a Pellet oven, and Solar Thermie Panels. There is about 1/2 floor heating and 1/2 radiator supplied rooms, and domestic water heating.
The system is controlled by an embedded device connected to some 20 temperature sensor, a 7-way mixer, and some five pumps (and to the network).
Now when introducing EOS (together with the new devices), my goal is to have the system do the optimization and prediction discussed here, as well as the low level control of the mixer, pumps, and sensors, including doing appropriate state logging.
I suppose for this, the "system" will need to be a collection of multiple devices / software "products" in a distributed networked way.
Regarding optimization, the system is interesting because of the alternative/combined inputs (PV, Solar Thermie, Pellet burning, Accumulator, Grid currant), and alternative/combined output (domestic water, Floor heating, Radiators, Accumulator, Grid).
What do you think ?
