Channels are lost everytime server is closed

Why don't you maintain a simple log file in a format that is easily readable? So everytime the server starts, it'll read from this file and update the status. This is standard practice. No need to store the message history.

But reading from the log and updating the status
Will require substantial amount of code.
Not enough time right now
