Encryption data size limit?

Hi,

I'm new with web crypto api / encryption and would need to know how to handle

• bigger size text (like an article...)
• files ?

Do I need to split up to smaller data parts or how should it be handled?

Hi @pwFoo,

AFAIK size is not really an issue, unless you plan to store the encrypted data in the browser. The cryptographic operations are performed in memory so as long as you have sufficient memory you should be fine. Also, you should also be able to encrypt/decrypt binary data (files).

Yes, I plan to store (encrypted) data to browser.

Question is split data before encryption for encrypt size limit or storage limits.
