this is a very WIP codebase that I kinda abandoned, but I was experimenting with getting something that works like git (has branches, does diffs natively, you can push/pull to servers) but also uses the same tech as backup software to allow it to scale a lot better than git does

the tree hashing was stolen from how bup does it

I've got a pretty solid core set up, but UI work is hard, so i've largely not done any work to make this usable yet.

nice! have you seen http://pijul.org/ btw? it's definitely more in vcs land than backup system, but it seems like something i might experiment with transferring my website content management to :)
